United States President Joe Biden has commuted the sentences of nearly 1,500 people and pardoned 39 Americans who were convicted of non-violent crimes. Mr Biden claims those pardoned have shown successful rehabilitation and commitment to their communities. The White House describes this as the largest single-day act of presidential clemency.
