(Note that this won’t necessarily work if you have allergies, deviated septum, or other nostril issues and in times of a lot of stress it may also be skewed). Quick things to do though if you ALWAYS are on the right side (sympathetic)- 👉 Breathe slowly in for 4 and then out for 4 for at least a minute 👉 Hum 👉 listen to relaxing music 👉 Meditate There are MANY other ways, but those can get you started. This trick is especially useful when you can’t sleep- if you notice you are in fight-or-flight, do some relaxing activities to help get you into rest-and-digest! And if you’re dragging mid-afternoon and are in rest-and-digest? Do something that will stimulate you into your sympathetic, like getting up and moving or playing a quick mental game. Going into sympathetic temporarily isn’t bad!
