Our teams were tasked with designing a small structure that would be able to withstand three differently sized "tidal waves" and provide a vertical evacuation possibility to the inhabitants of the structure. The ping pong ball in the structure represents the people in the structure. As you can see, the best design (my group) was to give the water a pathway to flow through the building, rather than diverting all the water around it. We were only given 20 minutes to design and build our structures. Each team's design survived the first two, smaller tidal waves, but my group's was the only project to survive the last tidal wave. This is a video of that last wave that knowcks everyone's project out except ours. 5 E.C. points I received for designing a structure to withstand the largest wave, as our group was the only one out of 19 groups to have a structure withstand the final wave.
