[4K] Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout, join us for a thrilling drop tower ride at Disney California Adventure as we take you through the experience of helping Rocket rescue the Guardians of the Galaxy. This ride, based on the Marvel Cinematic Universe, replaces the iconic Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, bringing a new level of excitement and adventure to Disneyland Resort. Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! opened on May 27, 2017, coinciding with the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The Guardians of the Galaxy attraction, set within the Collector's fortress, allows guests to assist Rocket in freeing the Guardians who are trapped in display cases. While Guardians of the Galaxy shares the infrastructure and ride system with the previously existing The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, the theming and storyline are uniquely Marvel. Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: Breakout allows guests to experience the ride in six different drop sequences, each set to iconic 1970s and 1980s hits. The ride includes appearances from characters such as Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and the Collector, with the voices of the original cast reprising their roles, including Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, and Bradley Cooper. A special Halloween version of the attraction, Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark, operates during the fall season. This version continues the story where Mission: Breakout! leaves off, with Rocket returning to rescue Baby Groot, who was accidentally left behind. The ride features a spooky twist, including the appearance of Surtur’s Fire Dragon from Thor: Ragnarok, along with a new song, Monsters After Dark, by Tyler Bates. Two new attractions are currently in development for Avengers Campus. Avengers Infinity Defense will bring guests into a multiverse-spanning battle against King Thanos, a villain who won in his timeline. Also announced is Stark Flight Lab, a brand-new ride featuring Tony Stark and cutting-edge Stark Industries technology, with Robert Downey Jr. reprising his role as Iron Man for the attraction. Avengers Campus is not exclusive to California. A nearly identical version opened at Walt Disney Studios Park in Disneyland Paris.
