Presider: Fr. Matthew Widder Parish: Catholic Community of Waukesha Choir: Holy Family Text from the Homily We begin this mass with the blessing of palms and receive these palm branches that we many times take home for us. And I imagine in at least 50% of Catholic families if you go in a home, somewhere you'll see often by the cross, a palm branch stuck in there. Sometimes even as the Mass of Palm Sunday is ending when I process out, people are even holding up crosses already. It turns into a little bit of crafting during the reading of the passion. But we have this cross that has been shaped out of the palm branches, sometimes very extravagant but there's something deeply spiritual about that. Because what happens to that palm branch how we naturally many of us make it into a cross, what is the image? That's exactly what's meant to happen with our lives. That our very lives are meant to be shaped into the form of the cross. The form of our salvation. Loving God loving our neighbor, laying down our lives for our neighbor for love of God.
