In this tutorial, Jennylyn shows you exactly how to paint polyester upholstery fabric with Fusion Mineral Paint. This is the perfect way to update old fabric on a chair or couch instead of getting rid of it. For your first step, you want to make sure the fabric is clean! This usually means a good vacuuming, so the surface is free from dust. Give the fabric a squirt of water so that it's slightly damp. Next, use a mixture of 50% water and 50% paint. Apply this to the damp fabric with a brush. Let it dry for about a half hour to a full hour, then move onto your next step. Once dry, feel the fabric for roughness. Use a high grit sandpaper or sanding sponge to smooth out any roughness. After that, add some more paint to your watered down mixture from before. Apply this, let dry, and sand again if necessary. For a super smooth final finish, use our Clear Furniture Wax! It will make the color pop and leave a finish that looks and feels almost like leather!
