Here we look at the very useful RF power meter originally made by Marconi, IFR, Aeroflex instruments, I show the different sensors & we carry out a calibration of the sensor & make an RF measurement, i read its full specification as a story, & look at the difference between scalar & RF power sensors & what to look for when buying one, additionally we look at adding external RF attenuation to the instrument sensor & add this into the db relative setting so the meter can read much higher powers while using a low power sensor in conjunction with a high power attenuator. Also i give an explanation of the Linearity & Cal Factor data that must be entered into the instrument which is taken form the label affixed to the sensor to achieve greater accuracy in making RF power measurements. This meter is used widely in RF applications Aerospace & Defence industries & research & development tasks, Able to read pulsed & CW RF signals form a a verity of systems including radar applications.
