Waze has introduced a significant update with version 5.4.0, enabling turn-by-turn navigation to be displayed directly on a vehicle’s digital instrument cluster via Apple CarPlay. This enhancement allows drivers to view navigation instructions within their line of sight, reducing the need to glance at the central infotainment screen.  This feature is currently available for iOS users through CarPlay. Android Auto users will need to wait for further confirmation from Waze regarding its availability on Google’s platform.  To utilize this feature, users should update their Waze app to version 5.4.0 and connect their iPhone via CarPlay. If your vehicle supports Apple Maps integration in the instrument cluster, Waze’s navigation should function similarly.   It’s important to note that while this update enhances in-dash navigation, certain features like BMW’s Head-Up Display (HUD) do not yet support Waze navigation. There is no official confirmation on whether this will be addressed in future updates.
