Happy year of the Tiger! Lead guitarist Mina Pang and drummer Jennifer from The Cotton Kids were invited to jam with good friends from Yat Lap Studio and made an appearance in the 22nd anniversary of the establishment of the SAR government concert. We all had a great time and without further ado, here comes the footage of our first song, "Really Love You", which is an all time favorite classic rock song from Hong Kong by Beyond about mother's love. Other musicians include Candy (vocalist), Licky (guitarist) and Elvis (bass player). And about the bass player, guess what. Mina started playing this song since the first year she played the guitar. Then she got a bass when she was 8. She wanted to do the awesome bass solo in the second verse so she was trying to figure out how to play that from watching youtube videos. Guess who learned how to do it from: Elvis! I mean, what are the odds?!?!!? We had no idea Elvis and us live in the same city!!! We just thought he played it really well. Turned out Mina recognized him when she was first introduced to him, she jumped up and said, "Elvis is the YouTube teacher I learned how to play that bass solo part from!". Elvis is low profile (and forgot to remove is face mask) but he is a solid bass player (and an even better guitar and drums instructor), not to mention he teaches the bass guitar in town too. We look at the footage again, and it's so special Mina and bass guitar teacher Elvis were standing side by side gigging together on stage and playing this awesome song from Beyond. We all had lots of fun doing band practice, rehearsals and of course, going on stage. Mina feels grateful she has these chances often.
