In order to change the symptoms of BPD and Complex Trauma, we need to heal the underlying wounds. This begins with understanding ourselves and our triggers. Asking “why do I respond/act the way that I do?” The most powerful triggers are abandonment, rejection, fear and shame. If a person has ever been abandoned or rejected before, they may have a deep fear that this will happen again, or a deep fear that this will obviously happen again because they are “abandonable/ rejectable” (shame).
