Live how you want, draw a steady income from subscribers, and don't have to write any boring assignments. Would you find a solo newsletter a good fit? First, you need to be able to write interesting content regularly, at least once a week. You may be able to get away with monthly, but that is hard to build a following with and advertise for. Speaking of, you'll be in charge of everything. If you only write the content, you'll be writing to nobody! Advertising, marketing, planning and executing on content, and tracking your growth to respond accurately to interests are just the tip of the iceberg. Of course, if you have a following already, that's very helpful. There's all sorts of research, partnership, and self-development you must do to establish yourself long-term. It's a lot of work, and it may not ever be a saleable asset either unless you expand your team and start a proper business and brand. That means management! So long as you have the writing chops and put in the work, it can be a significant lifestyle upgrade to a 9-5 position.
