If you have a tape measure that does not retract properly or all the way many times this can be fixed quick and easy by adding tension to the spring. To do that we need to disassemble the tape measure carefully and then slowly wind the tape clockwise so as more tension to the spring. You must do this slow and carefully so the whole mechanism doesn’t pop out and shoot the spring all over the place making it near impossible to put back together.
