This digital story explores the theme of differing perspectives in life through the parable of the four blind men and the elephant. The narrative centres on four blind men who have never seen an elephant and, as a result, do not know what it looks like. Each man takes turns touching a different part of the elephant and forms an opinion based on his limited experience. Although each man believes his perspective is the most accurate, all of them are mistaken because they only understand a fragment of the whole. The purpose of this story is to remind us of the importance of considering all relevant information and viewpoints before drawing conclusions. It cautions against hastily forming opinions without a comprehensive understanding of the situation. – This video is produced in the Virtual Mandarin Club programme hosted by SEAMEO QITEP in Language in 2023.
