#shorts Confused about how BT Cotton works? In this video, we break down the full concept of BT Cotton in the simplest way possible! 👨🌾 Farmers used to face huge losses in cotton farming due to bollworms. But then scientists made an important discovery — a natural bacteria called Bacillus Thuringiensis (BT) produces a toxin (Cryogen) that kills bollworms when they ingest it. 🔬 Using this, scientists inserted the Cryogen gene into the cotton plant, creating BT Cotton. Now, when a bollworm eats the plant, the toxin activates inside its body, creates holes in its gut, and eventually kills it. 💡 Why doesn’t the cotton plant get affected? Because the toxin only activates in an alkaline pH, which is present in the insect’s gut, not in the cotton plant. 📌 Watch till the end to fully understand how BT Cotton protects itself from pests naturally! 📈 Subscribe @GokulChhabrafor the latest videos, insightful content, and updates on CUET admissions! ✅ For queries, call or WhatsApp us at: 6397662212 📞 #cuet #biology #cuet2025
