In this video, we will show you how to plaster a wall from start to finish. Although plastering is often left to the experts, we break down the necessary preparation and method so you can achieve a nice smooth result ready for paint or wallpaper. Here are the main phases for achieving your smooth, finished wall: Preparing the Wall: Ensure the wall surface is properly prepared—this may involve cleaning, sanding, or applying a sealant/primer before mixing any plaster. Mixing the Plaster: Mix your plaster to the correct consistency, using the power mixer to achieve a smooth, lump-free batch quickly. Applying the Plaster (First Coat): Use the bucket trowel to transfer plaster to your hawk board, then apply the first coat evenly to the wall using your plastering trowel. Applying the Plaster (Second Coat): Once the first coat has set slightly, apply the second coat to build up and correct any imperfections. Finishing Off: Achieve a nice, smooth finish using your trowel. Use the clean paintbrush and water to keep your edges neat and tidy. Before you get started make sure you have all the tools you need for the job.
