After using the name previously on a handful a one-offs that resembled the single-cut L-5CT in the late ‘50s and early ‘60s, Gibson revived the “Crest” name from ’69-’72 to make around 170 of these double-cut thinline guitars more similar in appearance to an ES-355, but with a fully hollow body (like an ES-330) constructed from a figured Brazilian rosewood veneer.
