Homeschool Curriculum Resources PART 6 For 1st grade, we’re going to try WriteShop Primary Book A! In kindergarten, we started doing daily writing prompts, and our 5 year old has done an amazing job creating and illustrating stories. During the first semester, he wrote just words and filled up 1-2 lines per journal prompt, but by the second semester, he was writing full sentences up to three lines long! I also gave him a primary journal to create his own stories, and with all this progress, I started looking into a structured writing curriculum for him. WriteShop Primary introduces beginning writing skills to kids ages 5-8 through games, crafts, picture books, and one on one teaching.
