Can’t get those super clean sides on your cakes? Here’s some tips for you! 🍰 You can achieve super smooth and clean sides using any buttercream if you know how to work with it, BUT there are some buttercreams that just make it so much easier like my new Dream Cream Buttercreams! Today is the last day to get the recipes for the OCTOBER 31% off celebration. So if you’ve been considering, now is this time! 🥳👻 https://thestationbakery.podia.com/?coupon=OCTOBER31 👉🏽 Your scraper matters! When I started out I bought a cake decorating kit and that’s what I used to decorate my cakes. I was able to get smooth and clean sides with the plastic scraper I had, but when I decided to finally upgrade to a metal scraper, everything changed for me! And now my cakes are the smoothest and cleanest they’ve ever been. I learned sometimes it’s worth it to make the investment in better quality products. On the topic of scrapers, I have my final tips for today for you. 👉🏽 The way you use and maneuver your scraper makes all the difference! The angle you choose to hold your scraper at with cause different affects like a closer angle to the cake will smooth and spread the buttercream where as a wider angle will scrape and remove excess buttercream from the cake. 👉🏽 Also, the speed and rotation at which you move will affect your finish. If steadily spin your cake to ice it, you’ll get those jagged lines and indentations on your cake. But if you turn your cake in one continuous motion like I’m doing in this video, it reduces those lines significantly! 👍🏽 It’s easy to heat up a metal scraper to help with smooth sides and filling in bubbles. 👌🏽 And lastly, the slower you turn your turntable, the smoother the finish. So take your time! 🛍 All of my favorite tools and supplies are listed on my Amazon Shop, and why don’t you check out some of the packaging ideas I have while you’re there! https://www.thestationbakery.com/linkinbio What are some other tips you can share to help out your baking friends? #cakebusiness #cakebusinessadvice #cakebusinesstips #cakedecorating #buttercreamcake #homebakery #homebakerybusiness
