The song was released in the United States in 1996, becoming a top ten hit on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 5. UK and Ireland saw a release in January 1997, where it spent 15 weeks on the UK Singles Chart, peaking at number 2, while reaching the top position in Ireland.
