They don't teach this in design schools but in my opinion it's a huge disservice. You HAVE to be good at this to be an effective designer. As a ux designer, being good at prepping your design files for development takes you from an average designer to a great one. See, when you setup your files for development in the best way you can, they can develop faster. Them being faster will allow them the time to focus on DOING IT RIGHT!
