Environmental activists briefly interrupted Parliament as the controversial Fast Track Bill made it past a final hurdle. The protesters shouted “this bill kills” and dropped banners down onto the Government benches. National MPs ran to pull the banners down, with Southland MP Joseph Mooney and Upper Harbour MP Cameron Brewer together securing one of the three banners. Northland MP Grant McCallum and Transport Minister Simeon Brown unsuccessfully attempted to get the other two. Outside Parliament, protester Adam Currie - from “350 Aotearoa” - said their interruption was called for. “The Government is not following the rules with Fast Track,” he said. “They haven’t followed correct processes, so we said, today, we’re not going to follow the rules either.” | Subscribe: https://bit.ly/2JPg8oB Read more: For full coverage visit www.Stuff.co.nz Subscribe to our channel: https://bit.ly/2JPg8oB ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stuff is New Zealand's largest and most popular news site.
