New robotic missions to explore the Great Pyramid get a lot of media attention, from Rudolf Gantenbrink’s Upuaut 2 robot in the 1990s, which explored the four pyramid air channels, to Pyramid Rover in the early 2000s, and the Djedi Robot a decade later. For those interested in pyramid exploration, technology is our friend, especially in recent years with the ScanPyramids muon scan results, discovering not one but two voids in the Great Pyramid. But there is one pyramid mission that hardly ever gets a mention, and I imagine the majority of the people watching this video have never heard of it, yet it took place as recently at December 2010. Known as Yërsh-1, this was a research probe than was designed to enter the upper part of the Well Shaft, which, before being roped off, could once be accessed from the bottom of the Grand Gallery.
