Let’s talk Content vs Process 💥 The Content is the actual thing you’re communicating or discussing: like asking for or sharing strategies for coping with panic attacks The Process is our actual experiences in that conversation. Our thoughts, our emotions, our physical feelings, and our behavioral responses. This could be feeling agitated while waiting for a break in the conversation to share your thoughts. It could be feeling connected when we hear someone uses the same strategy we do. It could be noticing it hard to pay attention because we’re thinking of something else. Being able to discuss the Process is where the ✨Therapy Magic✨ happens!! It’s even cooler when it happens in a group discussion- especially because it’s easier to focus on the content, but it’s our internal experiences, and being able to share those with others, that helps us feel better, and connect easier with others. I’m always so thrilled when the teens I work with can do this because it takes courage to share your experiences with others and be open to their responses in return. And it’s incredibly rewarding when you realize there are ways you can share how you really think and feel and still be OK 🥰 #mentalhealthawareness #contentvsprocess #therapyiscool #mentalhealthmatters Gentle Reminder: Social Media is NOT Therapy https://www.mallorygrimste.com
