This edited short version of the late Scott Dinsmore's talk focuses on the key points he outlines in his talk about how to pursue work that you love: 1st thing is to become an expert on yourself -Analyze your strengths, find out what you naturally enjoy doing without necessarily getting paid for it. -Discover your values: What is "Success" for you? Is it being very rich? Very healthy? Having a big family? -Experiences: Keep a log of your experiences. When did things go right for you? When did they go wrong? Why? Who have you met that's inspired you? Why? 2nd do the impossible -Challenge yourself more and more. The more you accomplish, the more you realize you CAN accomplish If you have trouble getting up a flight of stairs, but after training hard you were able to run a marathon, what other "impossible" things would start to look possible? 3rd surround yourself by the right people -Make friends with people who are positive and doing the things that you wish you could be doing. Your environment is definitely something you can change -Do you have any negative people in your life? Get rid of them - they're not helping you -Going back to point #2, if you're surrounded by people who are constantly doing inspiring things and that becomes "normal", they your mindset will change from "How can possibly I do this?" to "How can I possibly NOT do this?" These are all things you can control, so figure out what it is you need to do and do it.
