Rob Berger recently made a video titled "How to unwind a complicated investment portfolio". The basic premise of the video is that - investing is simpler than it's made out to be - and once you "see the light" and decide to move to a 3/4/5 fund portfolio, here's how you get there. While I agree that many things in the investment services industry are made to appear complicated so that consumers feel they "need a professional" to handle that business, I don't agree that managing ones own retirement portfolio falls into that category. In this weeks video my objective is to highlight some of the questions, considerations, expertise required, and ultimately responsibilities you must inherit if you want to responsibly manage your own retirement portfolio. I believe investing for retirement is like running a business - it's a full time process that requires expertise, significant time commitment, labor intensive research, and comes with significant risk. No successful business owner would ever tell you "business is simple, just set it, forget it, and your business will perform over the long run!". I'm not selling any THING or any SERVICES in this video. My only hope is that you will come away from this video with a clearer set of questions to consider before jumping on the "buy and hold" (which I call "OSTRICH INVESTING") bandwagon and shift into a 3 fund portfolio. Thanks as always for your time and attention and I hope you enjoy Can You Succeed In Retirement With a Lazy 3 Fund Portfolio?   If you liked this video, make sure to click thumbs up!
