Why you should visit Malta at Christmas 1. The weather is still warm and hits around the early 20°C. 2. If you love beautiful small boutique hotels, stay @casaellul in Valletta 3. The Christmas markets are lovely and the festivities don’t feel over commercialised 4. Valletta is a great base and you can easily drive/take ferries to other towns 5. There are far less crowds and visiting places like Mdina or even Comino means you’ll have parts of the island to yourself (although you may not be able to swim in the sea) 6. Try the incredible Maltese wine and a cheese board 7. Hire a car for a few days and explore the island 8. Visit Vallettas jewel in the crown, St Jon’s Co-Cathedral (great for a rainy day idea- although we had no rain during our 10 day stay!) 9. If you’re there on Christmas Day, book your restaurant well in advance. Most will close after lunch service. We had a very special meal at the Michelin-stared @nonivallletta
