After leaving Bamfield, we set out to explore Barkley Sound, and uncover five secret places along the way. Highlights include a secret trail across Fleming Island marked only by buoys, zig-zagging through a dangerous channel into Jaques-Jarvis Lagoon, finding the mysterious Reeks Island stone face, getting lost in a labyrinth of channels between the Pinkerton Islands, and dinghying up Lucky Creek to find miles of raging waterfalls. During this time, we seemed to be all alone in the Sound -- as we didn't see another boat for nearly two weeks.
