The June 2025 optional feature drop for Windows 11, also known as Windows 11 KB5060829, is now available for version 24H2—and it brings some exciting new features. Read more here: https://www.windowslatest.com/2025/06/27/windows-11-kb5060829-adds-taskbar-features-privacy-features-on-24h2/ One of the highlights is taskbar icon scaling. You can now shrink the taskbar icons to fit more apps before they spill into the overflow menu. Just head to Settings, go to Taskbar behaviors, and choose the smaller icon option. It’s a small touch, but it really helps if you use a lot of apps at once. This update also lays the foundation for a new PC Migration feature. It’s part of the Windows Backup app and will eventually let you wirelessly transfer files between two PCs using a code. It doesn’t work yet, but the setup is now visible for some users. If you're in the European Union, you'll notice changes to how default apps work. You can now set your browser as the default for PDFs and links with just one click. Plus, your default browser gets pinned to the taskbar automatically—though there’s a toggle if you’d rather not. On Copilot+ PCs, the "Click to Do" feature is getting smarter. You can now send files or images to Microsoft 365 Copilot directly. For example, you could summarize a document or analyze a picture—right from the right-click menu. There are speed improvements too. File Explorer now extracts large archives about 15% faster, especially when dealing with lots of small files. Microsoft also cleaned up storage issues, fixing problems where unused language packs wouldn’t delete, saving space in the long run. You’ll also see improvements to the taskbar itself, like more visible app indicators, and new options in Narrator, including a “screen curtain” that blacks out the display for privacy in public. This feature drop is optional, so if you skip it, everything rolls out again in July’s regular update. Keep in mind, many features are being released gradually, so if you don’t see them right away, they’re on the way. Thanks for watching.
