Water plays a significant role in Kay Berryman’s life. Her whānau are well known on the Waka Ama scene & she runs a tour company that takes people out for authentic paddling experiences in Waikato. Whether she is at work on the water or having a dip with her mokopuna, “keeping our tamariki safe on the water is paramount.” Kay shares some key tips to help keep your tamariki safe around the water: ✅ It’s so important that children are only in, on or around water when they are being supervised ✅ Avoid distractions like cellphones and be 'in the present' with tamariki ✅ Lifejackets save lives. Choosing the right fit for a lifejacket for yourself and your child is crucial to safety when out on the water. ✅ Babies & toddlers can drown in less than 5cm of water. Always empty buckets & paddling pools when not in use
