Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said Turkey helped prevent Assad's allies, Russia and Iran, from intervening in the offensive that toppled his regime. Fidan discussed Turkey's role in training Syria's rebels and its eventual contribution to the fall of Bashar Assad's regime. When asked if the diplomats in Doha knew the regime's collapse was imminent, Fidan said Ankara worked to prevent intervention from Russia or Iran. Turkey reportedly supported the rebels and approved Hayat Tahrir al-Sham's offensive, without direct involvement. Fidan said it was "perfectly normal" to have such concerns about HTS, which would "need to be resolved." #turkey #syria #syrianews 00:00 - INTRODUCTION 02:13 - TURKEY SAYS DAMASCUS EMBASSY TO BE 'OPERATIONAL' 03:18 - WHY TURKEY IS RACING AHEAD OF US IN PUSH FOR SYRIA INFLUENCE n18oc_world n18oc_crux CRUX is your daily video news guide to the big events that are shaping our world.
