DIIS - Danish Institute for International Studies in collaboration with Danish Red Cross and Nepal Red Cross Society How is climate change connected to migration and gender inequality? How do women experience and manage the effects of environmental changes in contexts where international labour migration is often the only option to earn money, but is only allowed for men? Join us for an engaging webinar exploring the connection between climate change, migration, and gender. We will dive into how women navigate challenges and take on new responsibilities at home as their husbands and sons migrate for work. Our event will feature key insights from a new pilot study and the premiere of a short documentary film, showcasing the lives of two women from the Madhesh Province of Nepal. These stories highlight their resilience and strategies in managing the effects of climate change. The webinar is based on a collaborative study between DIIS and the Danish Red Cross, which sheds light on the intertwined issues of climate, migration, and women's work. Be part of the conversation and gain a deeper understanding of how global issues intersect with everyday lives in one of the most climate-vulnerable regions.
