This 1939 dress by designer Elsa Schiaparelli belonged to Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester. Schiaparelli was known for her unique style; she collaborated with surrealist artists and experimented with new materials. This dress is no exception, with intricate and unique details. Assistant Curator Isabella Coraça takes us into the dress store at Kensington Palace and reveals what we know about this fabulous piece of couture, now on loan to us from the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester. https://www.hrp.org.uk https://en-gb.facebook.com/hamptoncourtpalace/ https://www.instagram.com/historicroyalpalaces/
