Everyone knows that investing banking bonuses are a massive part of the total compensation. Typically as a first year investment banking associate, you can expect to get approximately 100% of your base salary as a bonus. That means if the base salary is $175,000 then you can expect the bonus to be another $175,000 for a total compensation of $350,000. On major caveat is your first year after you join the investment bank. If you join as an investment banking associate directly out of MBA, then likely you won't start working until July. Which means you are only working for 6 months out of the year and wont be eligible to earn that full bonus during your "Stub" period. Because of this, my first investment banking stub bonus was for $50,000
