Perhaps the biggest difference between Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon is that the latter lacks heroic characters. While Game of Thrones has plenty of villains, it also has many heroes for the audience to root for. People like Ned and Arya Stark, Jon Snow, and even Tyrion were always trying to do the right thing and fight for good. George R.R. Martin has even said, House of the Dragon doesn’t have "[A] character everybody’s going to love. They’re all flawed. They’re all human. They do good things.
