Yungas Road, Bolivia is located one hour from La Paz and is the world's deadliest road in the world! It has earned the nickname "Death Road" as it continues to claim 200 deaths each year. Yungas is also the start of the Bolivian Amazon is a beautiful scenic route that I would recommend to tourists, with caution! The safest way to explore this 60km road is by biking Yungas Road. About one cyclist dies each year on Death Road, and our guide was able to share some crazy stories. To bike Death Road from start to finish takes about 6 hours, it is a full-day excursion.
