Band: KINO Year: recorded in 1987/remastered in 2019 The full information about the single is below the video "Перемен!" (Changes!) is a song by KINO that became an anthem for change and made Tsoi himself a symbol of change in the Soviet Union. The band first performed it at the fourth Leningrad Rock Club festival alongside "Дальше действовать будем мы" (It's Our Time, Our Turn) and "Попробуй спеть вместе со мной" (Try to Sing Along) on May 30, 1986. Despite the fact that the band's performance itself wasn't the best, Tsoi received the prize for the best lyrics. In 1987, the guys recorded the single version of the song at Mosfilm for the crime movie "Assa," in which they took part as a band. Its final scene, with the band playing "Changes!" to a crowd of ten thousand, caused an immediate sensation among Soviet youth and suddenly brought KINO to a mass audience. After a while, Tsoi noted that it was a song about inner change and that he never intended for it to become a political anthem or for him to be a revolutionary figure. But even three decades on, the song's lyrics and rousing chorus still make it a popular choice at various opposition demonstrations in such post-Soviet countries as Russia and Belarus.
