This is my preferred method to pour a can of Guinness into a glass. To me, this gives the best texture for drinking as opposed to the slow pour into the glass whilst tilting the glass and letting the Guinness run down the side or even pouring directly I to the bottom of the glass. a lot of people won't like the larger head on top of the drink, which to an extent I agree with but when you start to use this method then the larger head emphasises the creaminess of the drink.
