Reviewing the Meta Quest 3S VR headset, a more budget-friendly gaming option vs the Quest 3, offering the same excellent gameplay. Here's my Meta Quest 3S unboxing and impression after several days of testing. If you can't quite afford the 3, then this is probably the best standalone virtual reality headset for you in 2024. Starting from under £299, the Meta Quest 3S boasts that same excellent gaming performance as the regular model. That's thanks to the Snapdragon brains, for running every title on the VR store. Check out my review round-up of the best Meta Quest games for some of my favourites. The hand and controller tracking seems to be the same as before, if a little better. And the Meta Quest 3S also serves up some excellent battery life for a VR headset, with the option to expand using accessories like the Elite Strap. The main drawback with the Meta Quest 3S vs 3 is the display tech. You now have a single screen again, like the old 2, so the resolution and field of view have both taken a hit. Still, games like Asgard's Wrath 2 look great and run brilliantly on the Meta Quest 3S. So if you're on a strict budget, this is a fantastic option.
