To Learn More Visit: thermofisher.com/collaborate As a drug discovery and development researcher, you are challenged to do more with fewer resources and to provide relevant leads faster. A problem with an assay is the last thing you or your team wants to face. The Thermofisher Scientific team of technical and project support specialists is made up of experienced scientists and professionals who appreciate these challenges and can respond -- efficiently and accurately -- to your questions. Whether it's setting up an instrument, analyzing your data or providing screening and profiling services, our team is here to help. Carolyn: My name is Carolyn Pettersson. I'm the manager of Discovery Services in Madison, Wisconsin. Customers come to us to do services because typically they might not have the expertise in-house or because we are able to offer things that they do not have resources to offer. We never want a customer coming to us asking us where their project is. We want to be able to notify them and let them know the details of their project before they ever have to come and ask us. Cynthia: My name is Cynthia Wadsworth and I'm a senior technical specialist at Life Technologies. I think what's really interesting and keeps us motivated to do this job our background is typically a little bit different than the people that call us and so we're really able to help them with things that they're less familiar with. For example, we may have someone not getting assay results when what's really happening is there's something going on with their instrumentations. So we will ask a lot of questions and essentially reframe sometimes what people are asking us. Carolyn: I think our customers appreciate the personalized support that our project managers provide them regardless of the size of their project or the size of their organization. Jane: My name is Jane Griffin and I'm a technical support supervisor. Our customers need to know that they have that specialized group of individuals who understand the products inside and out and can support them fully. If we don't know the answer, we will go out of our way to find it for them. Cynthia: I may hear from someone a couple of years later who said, "I worked with you a couple of years ago and now I'm interested in doing something new. Can you tell me about it?" and I think that's one of the most satisfying things. It feels fabulous to help other scientists and I like to think that at the end of the day they're going to find a drug faster because we helped them get an experiment done faster and somebody's life will be impacted by that.
