The former Bridgeport Harbor Station power plant was imploded during the early morning hours of Sunday, Sept. 28, 2025. The state contributed $22.5 million for the work. The plant's three smoke stacks, including the 500-foot red-and-white striped edifice that is considered by many a local landmark, was left standing and will be leveled next spring.
