It's been in production for more than four years now, but the Polestar 2's under-the-skin engineering changes for the 2024 model year have dramatically altered the personality of this Swedish-designed, Chinese-built EV - for the better! With 50kW more power, 160Nm more torque, and 103km of additional WLTP range (now 654km), this Single Motor Long Range version offers a lot more on paper than its predecessor. And as we publish this video (August '24), it's priced at $63,900 before on-road costs in Australia, which also heightens its appeal. But, best of all, it's now rear-wheel drive and has a significantly less punishing ride - making it finally handle and ride like a 'premium' EV should. Chasing Cars’ Nathan Ponchard puts his boot into the impressively re-engineered, rear-drive Polestar 2 and discovers that this tastefully designed EV has become something of a stealth driver's car.
