A re-evaluation of UA’s amp pedals for Dan & Mick? Welcome to the show. We are delighted to welcome our good friend Tore Mogensen back to Schwangri-La. We first met Tore many, many, many years ago when he was with TC Electronic. Then a few years back he moved to Universal Audio and set about bringing the recording giant’s guitar pedals to the fore. While we’ve loved using many of the effects – particularly reverbs and delays – in our studio and on our pedalboards, it’s fair to say that Dan and I don’t really engage with digital amp simulation for two key reasons. First, we both avoid playing quietly at all costs and, second, we are indeed wedded to our beloved tube amps. So, different day, more volume and somebody who knows them inside out… is this the way to enjoy UA’s digital amp sims? Oh yeah, and why no MIDI? Let’s find out… WHY NO DIRECT SOUNDS? Maayyyybe we'll do it another day. Maybe. We're addicted to speakers and cabinets at appreciable volume. No volume, no happy is the truth. Enjoy the episode!
