When buying a Tormach mill, one of the most important decisions is to choose between the Tormach Tooling System and the BT30. The TTS, our Tormach Tooling System was created by Tormach, as an affordable repeatable tool holder. It has a straight shank that references off of a modified RA in the spindle, and is dual contact so that way the tool holder when inserted contacts the spindle nose allowing for repeatable tool links every single time you put the tool in and out this is a great affordable option for any machinist. The BT 30 is an industry standard tool holder. It has Drive dog and pull stud that allow for the tool to positively engage in the spindle this means that pull out is nearly impossible and utilizes its tapered surface as a single point of contact within the spindle while it's a slightly more expensive option it is balanced and can be used at high speed and is a great option if you're looking to push your machine just a little bit further.
