The new expanded edition of my book "The Real Odesa: How Nazi War Criminals Escaped Europe", goes on sale on 30 Novmber 2022, Granta Books, London. Contrary to the myth of secret hideouts in Patagonia or fortresses in steamy jungles, Nazi fugitives lived openly in Argentina, most of them in quiet neighbourhoods of the capital city Buenos Aires. In this video I visit the 1950s home of arch-criminal Adolf Eichmann on Chacabuco Street in the suburb of Olivos, in an outtake from one of the many documentaries in which I have participated. Eichmann later moved to a more modest home in San Fernando, outside Buenos Aires, the better-known house on Garibaldi Street, where he was captured by Israeli agents in 1960.
