Year by year, the Japanese population is decreasing, like many parts of the world, and although there are now more foreign immigrants in Japan than at any other point in history (which isn't saying much, they were historically isolationist), the diversification of Japan is largely overblown. For the time being, foreign residents make up only 3% of Japan's population and less than 10% of the population in most major cities so Japan isn't exactly becoming radically altered through mass global immigration in the same way the Western world is, at least for the time being but this could also change in the future, as demographers project that within a few decades, foreign migrants could increase to 10 or even 20% of Japan's population but this remains to be seen.
