If you're an options trader, and really suck at picking the stock's direction, then you may want to consider selling put options. Option trading all comes down to probability. Will the stock move in the right direction in the time allotted (expiration date). Most new option buyers are really horrible at picking the correct stock direction, let alone getting it right in a certain timeframe (expiration date).
