Ontario Premier Doug Ford was asked about the latest in trade negotiations with the U.S. on Wednesday. “I’m 100 per cent supportive of the prime minister and the federal government,” Ford said adding that a “tariff on Canada is going to be a tax on Americans. So far, this is what’s happened.” Last Friday, after the U.S.-imposed target date for a trade deal between Canada and the U.S. expired, U.S. President Donald Trump increased the tariffs on Canadian goods from 25 per cent to 35 per cent. Ford also took aim at the Bank of Canada, saying that in his view the governor has to “lower those damn interest rates.” Ford also stated that the federal government should “stimulate the market, and we’ll follow suit.” For more info, please go to https://globalnews.ca/news/11319032/donald-trump-tariffs-canada-mexico-anand-sheinbaum/ Subscribe to Global News Channel HERE: http://bit.ly/20fcXDc Like Global News on Facebook HERE: http://bit.ly/255GMJQ Follow Global News on X HERE: http://bit.ly/1Toz8mt Follow Global News on Instagram HERE: https://bit.ly/2QZaZIB #GlobalNews
