Make a BUBBLE SNAKE 🐍 🫧‼️ with science 🧬 Full details below👇🏼. 👉🏼Follow @sarahahabibi for more STEM activities at home! ✅SAVE to try it yourself! & Pre-order my STEAM activity book now (link in bio) 🧬 Materials: 🫧1/4 cup dish soap 🫧2 cups of water 🫧Food colouring 🫧Plastic water bottle cut in half 🫧Paper towel 🫧Elastic band Mix your water and soap to make the bubble solution. Cute your water bottle in half, place a folder paper towel on the large opening, and secure with an elastic band. Dip the paper towel in the bubble solution and blow from the opening of the water bottle! ✨The SCIENCE ✨ Bubbles are made of two things, a thin film of water, and air taking up space inside the thin film. Purely water bubbles pop very quickly because the water molecules in the film of water surrounding the bubble cannot bend too much. When soap is added it squeezes between the water molecules marking them more flexible for the bubble to stretch. The paper towel has many little pores in it that hold on to the soap and water solution. When air is blown into it, thousands of tiny bubbles are formed and they all stick together making the illusion of a snake! Are you going to try this?
