Everybody talks about the BMW 3.0 CSL when they talk about the E9 model, but do they know that the CSL was largely based on the 3.0 CSi? Yes, the multiple European Touring Car Championship title winning CSL street car is 210KG lighter than the CSi, but the engine it uses is largely based on the 3.0 CSi with only has a slight engine capacity and horsepower increase (3.0 to 3.1 litre and only a handful more horsepower).
