I see many first & business-class food reviews, so here's what we ate in economy on our 19-hour flight from India to New Zealand. Because we're flying from India, dinner is Chicken Saagwala. The vegetables look dead inside. The bread, I can’t work out what it is. It’s not Indian. The spinach was bland. It's hard to impress me with Indian food because I'm used to eating fresh spinach dishes from my wife's farm. There were no crackers, cheese, bun, or butter. Meals have really been downsized these days, but economy fares have doubled. And no expense has been spared on Qantas. Dessert was literally a 25-cent saffron ice cream. Except there's no actual saffron in it, it's artificially flavoured. Mmmmm chemicals. Breakfast hit the spot, though, omelette and sausages. No complaints except for a black thing in my tea. I paid extra for the fastest flight, but our departure flight was delayed, so we missed the connecting flight. Then that flight was delayed too, so money was wasted there. The next meal was dinner again. Our seat was at the back of the plane, so we had the only option left, Lamb Ragu. It was great, though. Soft pasta, and Ozzie lamb.
